No Surprises Act
The “No Surprises Act” is a federal law that went into effect on January 1st of 2022. The law provides expanded protection for healthcare consumers related to emergency care, being treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital, surprise medical bills, out-of-network cost sharing, and increased transparency about cost of services.
The No Surprises Act means that The Pomegranate Institute is required to provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” about the total estimated cost of care, because the services that we provide involve using out-of-network benefits or self-pay. The No Surprises Act also allows consumers to file a dispute if they are charged more than $400 about the estimate.
